The Associated Press has called the Texas governor’s race for Democrat Gina Hinojosa, the lieutenant governor’s race for Democrat Vikki Goodwin, and the U.S. Senate race for Democrat James Talarico. Republican Roger Williams won reelection in the AP’s call for Texas’ 25th Congressional District.

These are media race calls, not certified election results.

Eastland County’s unofficial returns show Republican candidates receiving the most local votes in all four contests. The governor, lieutenant governor, and U.S. Senate races are decided statewide. The U.S. House race is decided across Congressional District 25, not by Eastland County alone.

Governor: Gina Hinojosa

Hinojosa represents central Austin in the Texas House. She previously served on the Austin ISD school board, including as board president, and worked as a civil rights and labor attorney.

The governor serves as the state’s chief executive. Duties include signing or vetoing legislation, calling special legislative sessions, and making appointments to state offices, boards, and commissions.

Lieutenant governor: Vikki Goodwin

Goodwin represents Texas House District 47 in western Travis County. First elected in 2018, she is a real estate broker and small-business owner with degrees from the University of Texas at Austin.

The lieutenant governor presides over the Texas Senate and may serve as governor during certain absences or vacancies.

U.S. Senate: James Talarico

Talarico is a Texas House member first elected in 2018. Born in Round Rock, he previously taught middle school in San Antonio and earned degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and Harvard University.

U.S. senators represent their entire state for six-year terms. Their work includes voting on federal legislation, presidential nominations, and treaties.

U.S. House District 25: Roger Williams

Williams has served in the U.S. House since January 2013. A former small-business owner, he served as Texas secretary of state from 2005 to 2007 and previously worked as a baseball player and coach.

U.S. representatives serve two-year terms representing congressional districts. Their duties include introducing and voting on federal legislation and serving on House committees.

Eastland County’s unofficial vote

The county’s report dated November 3 at 11:11 p.m. lists 11 of 11 precincts reporting:

Governor: Greg Abbott, 5,170; Gina Hinojosa, 1,046.

Lieutenant governor: Dan Patrick, 5,191; Vikki Goodwin, 971.

U.S. Senate: Ken Paxton, 5,065; James Talarico, 1,057.

U.S. House District 25: Roger Williams, 5,399; Dione Sims, 933.

These are county-only figures, not statewide or districtwide totals. Other candidates and write-in votes, where applicable, appear in the full county report. Full Eastland County report.

All precincts reporting does not mean the results have been certified.
