EASTLAND — There’s still time to enjoy RipFest today, Saturday, October 3, and show some hometown support for Cub Scout Pack 23 and Scout Troop 103, both represented in this morning’s Old Rip Parade.

Photos submitted to The Alliance Gazette show Troop 103 participants riding in a camouflage truck displaying the troop’s banner and an American flag. Another photo shows the Eastland Pack 23 banner being carried along the parade route. The banner identifies the Eastland Lions Club as the pack’s sponsor.

RipFest continues this afternoon in downtown Eastland. According to the Eastland Chamber of Commerce, vendors, food trucks and activities are scheduled through 4 p.m., with vendor booths around the downtown square on Commerce and Lamar streets.
Bring the family or a friend, spend some time downtown and enjoy the rest of the festival. If you meet Scout families while you’re there, stop to say hello and thank them for taking part. A word of encouragement is a simple way to show support for our local Scouts.
